Trane Supply recently met to help reduce pain points and complexity around Tool Warranty claims. Our goal is to simplify the warranty claims process for items sold through supply locations.
Today, tool warranties have to be filed through our various vendors, which creates confusion around the warranty process. The claims within WMS get auto denied. Occasionally, these denied claims will get appealed before clear direction is given on how to process the claim. This leads to associate frustration and delays in getting the end customer their credit.
Moving forward, tool warranty claims will be managed within the WMS as a 1-Year Part Warranty Claim and follow our normal warranty process. The changes below will help reduce the complexity and improve the ease of tool claim entry.
Changes:
- Tool part warranty claims can be submitted within WMS and will follow normal 1-year part sales order warranty. They will no longer auto-deny if within warranty policy.
- Any tool under $50 dollars will not be required to be returned to the vendor.
- Any tool over $50 will follow the normal warranty part return process. If required by the manufacturer, they will process through due parts.
