- Podium has been in contact with the Google team (including the head of Google reviews) and they have confirmed that they are currently limited on resources/staffing that they typically are able to allocate to monitoring new review content. Due to this, they’re not allowing new reviews to show up publicly until they’re able to get back to a normal resourcing/staffing state. Although they’re unable to provide any ETA at this time on when to expect functionality to be restored, they’ve confirmed with us that they’re doing their best to get things back to normal as soon as is practical and safe.
- Google is still allowing customers to post reviews. Due to the factors mentioned above these new reviews are currently not showing publicly and as a result will not pull into Podium. However, we have built a tool to continue tracking the number of customers who have gone through the Podium review invite flow and left a review on Google.
- Although new responses to Google reviews are temporarily not being allowed, any new responses will be saved in our system and we will automatically post the responses for Podium users once the functionality is re-enabled.
Our Google contacts shared these two articles with us as the source of truth during these temporary changes.
